Originally the set was intended to be a wedding gift, but later it was used as casebox for the Holy Manna issued by the relics of Saint Andrew.
In adherence with the topics usually covered by Baldassarre of the Embriachi workshop, the casebox depicts pairs of young women and men with various attitudes and male figures, on the corners, supporting smooth shields. The characters, arranged under the characteristics tree foliage, remindful to the corteous environment of late Gothic painting cycles. The rectangular-shaped artifact has a pagoda lid on which winged geniuses support a large shield, recalling classic models of late Antiquity.
